UScellular has donated $41,250 to Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County to enhance STEM education opportunities for youth. This marks the 10th consecutive year of UScellular’s support for the organization’s academic programs. The funds will help provide local youth with access to STEM-related activities, including building robots, tackling environmental challenges and hosting STEM fairs. The donation also enables UScellular associates to continue their involvement, volunteering over 500 hours in the community last year. “We believe every young person should have the chance to explore a STEM education,” said Joe Cabrera, director of sales and operations for UScellular in Oklahoma City. “Our partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America enables us to equip local youth with the tools, resources, and experiences they need to explore careers in STEM and unlock their full potential. We’re honored to be able to support these critical learning opportunities.” “Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County is excited to continue working with UScellular to advance STEM education for today’s young people,” said Teena Belcik, president and CEO of Boys & Girls Clubs of Oklahoma County. “Beyond impactful programming, this partnership helps introduce kids and teens to careers within STEM fields and exposes them to the numerous opportunities available to them as they aim to achieve successful futures.” UScellular’s commitment extends beyond STEM through initiatives like the After School Access Project, which has provided over 24,000 mobile hotspots to help close the digital divide and ensure access to educational resources.
